Further to my point above, note that Atlanta (with a 47.8 rating) was the #2 market after Birmingham:

The difference is that the Birmingham market has a little less than 700,000 households, while Atlanta has over 2.4 million households, so getting a Super Bowl-level number in Atlanta adds a huge number of viewers. Like I've said before, the Atlanta market alone is large enough to push the overall national ratings number because of the sheer number of households it has compared to most other college football-centric markets.
