I would still give them an A. They did everything that the fans wanted them to do. I my opinion the lose at OU came after the big win over NIU no questions asked. The bowl game to me was that they played them last year and another trip to Mobile, really didn't excite them very much. That is no excuse but that is my opinion. I'm sure all of the coaches have watched that game over and over to find out where the trobules are.

Troubles galore in every aspect in the final game. I am not buying that they did not want to be there.

Agreed. The need to find and build and O-line was exposed in both games. The need to build a real linebacking corp was exposed in both games. The need to find some leadership and resiliency was exposed. It will probably take about 2 years to build up the O-line and Linebackers. Luckily Toledo plays in the MAC, so they can get 8-9 wins on their skill players alone.

Not a long time ago, we had the largest O line in the country...

That may be part of it. IMO, better recruits often look at which mid-major schools offer the greatest potential for them to play early. That's why I think the current O-line is just kind of okay, but I also think that is why the in-coming class appears to have future all-conference linemen. They see starting potential during their sophomore year. The linebacking department is more of a mystery to me. Is it because Toledo has been so focused on defending the pass that they have not been recruiting run stopping Lbs of late, or have they just had difficulty recruiting linebackers the past few years?
