The worst part about losing that bad to App State is that average football fans around Toledo were just starting to take UT seriously. I frequently hear "How did Toledo lose to Appy App State?" Most people around here don't even know that Appala U is no longer FCS. Even my Great Grand Appy was upset. He fought in the great App Trail Wars, when the Appalachians fought the Seminoles. The Apps were outnumbered, but they fought with courage from their entrenched positions that were often referred to as "holes" in the old country. My Great Grand Appy said that to this day, people remember and still celebrate the brave Appholes of the old country.
