Liberty is still too toxic. Our SB Chancellors and Presidents see this. No matter how big LU gets, no matter how many buildings they construct, no matter who they schedule at home, as long as they remain what they currently are, no FBS conference will touch them. Hopefully the day will come when a Falwell no longer runs the place and LU academically joins the 21st Century. Then FBS conferences would be knocking the door down to have them. J-Boy Sr. always said he wanted LU to be the Notre Dame of evangelicals. Liberty is not even close. Notre Dame is a world renowned institution of empirical and critical study. If LU wants to match that they have a loooooooong way to go...............And I say this as a Baptist Pastor with over 40 yrs experience.
