I don't want him hurt either but its a likelihood if he isn't 100% healthy and going from season ending to being back after just 5 weeks is a big difference. If I was Wilder I would redshirt him at this point and let him come back as a redshirt senior. Its not that bad.

He's played too many games hasn't he? It's some obscure percentage isn't it?

He has only played in the 1st game of the season. You can get a medical or regular redshirt if you get hurt in the 1st 25% of the season. According to the NCAA that's 3 1/2 games. Lawry hasn't been redshirted yet so he would have to take his regular redshirt.

Marshall WR Willie Johnson got a redshirt right under the limit the NCAA allows last season. Last year Johnson broke his leg in the 1st half of the 4th game against Pitt. If his injury would have happened in the 2nd half he would have lost basically a whole year of eligibility.
