Unfortunately, they are ineligible due to the FCS-to-FBS transition rules so they can't even make a bowl game this season. Next year, they can. I think this rule is crap along with the very recently overruled ban on immediately playing upon transfer. If a school is an FBS school and they play an FBS schedule, they should be eligible. Coastal Carolina's schedule this season has only 1 FCS school. They should be allowed, but aren't.

I am wondering if part of the reason is they do not have to have a full complement of FBS schools on schedule. Maybe I am wrong on that, but I feel other transitions teams had far more FCS teams remaining on schedule.

If so, a good new rule would allow them to participate, but only letting them count one FCS win (same as everyone else).
