I don't doubt that you know what you are talking about. I, for one, appreciate the updates/insight. One weeks worth of practice should not close the door on Childers. I didn't see him play, but it doesn't sound like the gap between him and the other too is significant. I just struggle with how "all over the map" this site is. We have now gone from a "burn the shirt" campaign (Hall), to Childers being the obvious "no brainer" choice to...who knows what. Three issues in particular give me heartburn. 1) the overall disrespect for Carey. Is he a perfect coach, no; I don't care for his sideline demeanor, but he runs a fairly clean program; he will make the tough personnel decisions, but will also give a kid a chance to recover from mistakes. He has hired a pretty talented staff, and he does not shy away from accepting responsibility. I know he inherited a ton, but his record is pretty damn good. 2) the total disregard for Graham; is he the most talented QB we ever had? No; but he represents the University very well, a classy kid who has done nothing but his absolute best. He was put into a challenging situation and has responded reasonably well; he knows the offense better than any QB, and when he is right does not make the mistakes that will lose games. 3) the negative conclusions on Santa given the incredibly small sample size. The kid has battled back from what I understand was a fairly substantial arm injury; in his first game back he struggles throwing the ball, and we want to conclude he is...not the answer...not a QB...He's terrible, etc. This rationale is ludicrous to me. Based on what he has done, why we are pessimistic rather than optimistic speaks is a mystery to me. I am looking forward to this year, and I hope who ever gets the call, the kid lights it up.

At this point I will give way more leeway to Santa than Graham.
I just hope Carey picks the right one, whomever that may be.
