RE: Mayweather - McGregor
Quote:One, you can't teach punching power and McGregor has that. Mayweather is known for his defensive acumen but I don't know that he has faced someone recently with this kind of knockout power.

He has. Even a more powerful one. But even moreso in boxing, it's how you deliver in the ring being the key part. I agree that of any MMA fighter Mayweather's size, to have a chance against any Pro Boxer as his 1st fight, McGregor's the best. But at the same time, it's Mayweather. Not merely a seasoned pro boxer who would surely get floored by Mayweather, and would surely floor McGregor (but who McGregor could be a wild-card-ya-never-technically-know against).

It IS boxing, so one huge punch by any relatively young, Tough wildcard of a fighter coming in -- MMA guy or not -- at least gives one a theoretical chance. But the WORST chances said type of person would have, is to fight the best Defensive boxer and on-the-fly strategist in the ring Ever -- and that's Mayweather. The ONLY upside for McGregor to have it A Little close to just fighting "a good pro boxer" where he Would have a BAD chance, but a theoretical chance nonetheless -- is that Mayweather hasn't fought in 2 years and he's 40, thus possibly not close enough to the top of his game.

And I'm going on the positive side for McGregor, here. :)

It'd be like a 5-7 Sunbelt team talking smack non-stop to Alabama in how they're going to crush them, because even though they're 5-7, they have a QB with an arm and time to come up with some crazy plays. :)
