It's a good way to promote the University as a whole, and to get "new" fans to the games. Make sure to give some of the revenue from the earlier sessions to the schools' music programs of course.

Host it early in the season, so later in the season you can invite the top bands back for a big halftime or postgame battle of the bands sort of thing.
