Self-imposed bans are awful. The players at the time get penalized that had nothing to do with the violations. What they should do is not accept self-imposed bans for the current year, and accept them for the following year while allowing any player who wishes to transfer without restriction.

The way the recent seniors at Louisville, Syracuse, etc. have been treated in regards to the self-imposed ban halfway-or-more through the season is disgraceful.

This. Those transfers were thrown into the wind without a care by poor Rickie P. But at least they had some good scotch.
