Well... sort of. For 50 years Track and Field was our signature sport, no matter what fans of any other UL or USL sport may think. More conference championships, more All Americans, more Top 20 NCAA finishes than all other sports combined.

For decades we rarely finished below 3rd in conference indoors or out, men or women. Most years our men scored more points in field events than we scored this weekend in toto. We are still the only team ever to sweep the relay events at the Drake Relays.

Charles Lancon and Bob Cole were great coaches. A UL alum, John McDonnell, is the greatest Track and Field coach in NCAA history.

I am ok with finishing 3rd in the men; barely. Our finish with the women was putrid, and must be improved significantly. We have no depth in either team, and few quality performers. I liked the hire of Lon Badeaux when we made it; I am beginning to have my doubts now.
