And this advisory board is yet ANOTHER way he is trying his hardest to improve huskie athletics. That there are people out there who think he's just coasting along in his job is insane to me.

Serious question.

Why does STF need an advisory board to point out to him gameday issues (concessions, staffing, etc.), customer service, in areas like the ticket office (my ticket orders across basketball and football have had issues three out of the past four years), and the rest? Those speak to the management of the department.

I'm really down on all this right now.

Well, maybe he's seeking ideas and. It just complaints.

Ideas like what? Don't screw up the ticket process over and over? If he needs someone from the outside to point that out, well, that in and of itself is an issue.

Here's a small thing, but I think symptomatic of stuff. I paid online for my football tickets the other day. I received a receipt, thanking me for purchasing my 2014 season tickets. 2014. So, in 2015, 2016, and 2017, no one updated the automatic receipt.

Last year, NIU had a section on the webpage devoted to the Cell/Toledo game. It said that more details on seating, etc. would be available right there after August. It was never updated. I even emailed tickets to let them know and ask about it. There was no response.

At the end of the basketball season, when a home first round game was still possible, season ticket holders received an email stating that if the game happened, we got an equal number of tickets as our season tickets, but everything was general admission. And, we had to pick them up at will call. Why would you not include, with the season tickets, a game one "maybe" ticket? How many extra staff would they need to handle the "will call" window if that game actually happened?

Here's my idea. Walk around before and during a game, football and basketball. See how things are working. Buy a concession. See if you get cold, stale food. Watch the ticket lines before a game.

Jim Phillips used to attend just about all the basketball games. He sat in our row with the family. I have some confidence he was paying attention to how things run.

Here's another obvious thing for him to consider. Don't give contract extensions to bad coaches.

So apply to be on the advisory board? You're bitching and moaning about stuff and now you have the ability to officially vocalize those concerns and you're bitching about that too.

If the stuff he is bitching and moaning about gets to an advisory board---a website NEVER being updated, lines, concessions, tickets on time, etc---why have an advisory board? Why even have an athletic office--these are MUNDANE things and are probably routine things at 99% of high schools in the state.

I don't know how factual the info Borkfan is portraying--but I have NO reason to doubt it, but if the Cell/Toledo game was Frazier's great thing then the info for the game should have been readily available. If you are a season ticket holder you shouldn't have to work to get tickets.

And---if you are running an athletic department these type things should NEVER ever happen or be discussed.
