How long does it take to go through the process to come to the U.S. legally? It's possible that's it, as much as anything. There's certainly more opportunity here than in their home countries.
It will take as long as we deem it to take. Our country. Our rules.
I have been a sponsor for two different families to become citizens. It takes a while. It takes work. Which is why these people get so pissed when they see illegals bypass the process and get immediately get financial assistance, while they themselves have to continually jump through hoops and prove they will not be a financial hardship on the country.
Yea I know, somebody at work whose wife came to this country had to go through a lot to move here legally. Not sure how long but it was a long process. Can certainly understand they'd be pissed.
Wasn't until fairly recently I knew there was such a thing as sanctuary cities. Doesn't make sense to me either.
It does when you find out that the feds have no funds to support the detention of undocumented immigrants.
It's one thing to not have the money to imprison them. It's another to try to keep others from coming in and deporting them, if that's what they're essentially doing. States' rights, I guess.
I don't know of any city where that was occurring before Trump took office. Do you?
