The same reason the city turned down a sweet 14,000-seat minor league stadium. Most of the taxpayers here suck, and don't give a sh*t if people leave for Raleigh or Charlotte to get jobs.

Yeah, I'm still bitter. 70 % against. Unbelievable.

Maybe they'd go for an arena though?

Can't hurt to try, since they turned down minor league baseball. Surely, they definitely wouldn't do both.
