Even if it was ANew Hope reimagined, it was still great. I liked the different perspective it gave you. In Star Wars IV you saw the planet destroyed from a distance. Here you were on the planet as it was destroyed. There were other scenes that gave a different perspective as well.

I am really curious about Rey's backstory. I think it would be too obvious to make her Luke's daughter. Also curious as to what they will do with Chewie without Solo.

There were a couple of minor characters who seemed to have a bigger share of screen time that hint to a bigger role in future movies. The girl in the "cantina" scene who alerted the First Order of the droids presence got a bigger spotlight than seemed necessary. Same with one of the leaders of the gangs after Solo.

Oh, and I would rather them kill off Indiana Jones than Hans Solo. That character has gotten worse each time. Solo was great here.
