The guy whose 53-yard run set up the winning score against Florida was a former walk-on and the No.2 guy for pretty much the entire season. It's not even as though he was an overlooked good player from a football factory HS before he came to Southern. Hell, I cover GA high school sports for a living and had barely heard of William Banks' school - much less him - when he popped up on the GSU roster.

Injuries will always suck, but I imagine they'll suck far less when your depth chart's second or third guy up is on scholarship and was recruited by a handful of other schools rather than some guy who had a good high school career and made the college team mostly out of a willingness to show up for every practice and workout without having a scholarship pay for it.
