The reason why El Paso hasn't become a tourist destination by now is becuase it does the opposite. It tries to downplay our proximity to Mexico and it tries to downplay our Mexican culture.

If I'm wrong, explain to my why Mountain Star sports elected to make their mascot the Chihuahua? Clearly they know more about marketing than you or I.

They could also go to East LA., or parts of Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, San Diego, and even Chicago, to do the same thing....

You correlating the Chihuahua dog mascot selection, to the marketing of an entire city- based on Mexican culture influence found in areas in most cities now......

I give up.....

But you go on, and market the city that way with your 5 dollar budget. I'll promote, vote for, and spend money on attractions that will improve the quality of life, and make the town a more attractive destination.
