I don't know where VU stacked up on SU's rivalry chart, but 'Cuse was probably the second most anticipated rivalry in the conference to the Wildcats. G-Town probably the biggest, and Pitt probably up there.

I don't see good things ahead for Villanova without these games. The Big 5 and G-Town help, but it's not going to be easy getting things to be as they were there. They want to do a massive facelift to their on-campus arena, which is already not looking good because of the township. I don't think some of these replacements warrant the trip to the WFC, unless schools like PC and SJ come back to life nationally.

I suspect VU will work hard to keep 'Cuse more than other former conferencemates, though. Recruiting battles alone make it kind of a priority.
