Lipscomb tried to join the Big South back in the day, but for one reason or another wasn't a match. My guess -- and we've seen how well those have worked out so far -- is that Lipscomb stays put, at least until a spot opens in the OVC. That can come from TSU going to the SWAC, or Belmont going to the A-10, or SIU-E going to the Missouri Valley.

But that's just a guess.
All you need to do to get a new conference is to add non-schloarship football and for a team to leave OVC, you got your conference.
