I think you might think I am someone else. I do not work for ETSU. I do not give to the sports programs, my family has season tickets to basketball games. I am a member of the Foundation. I know and talk to a number of ETSU administration people from time to time.
I am not having a day in the sun as you put it. If football comes it won't impact me. If the school puts football back and we end up in a better conference for basketball that would be great. The other model would be to properly run your basketball program and bring it back to the national stage without football. I would favor that way but its not going to kill me.
Last thing on the disengenous tennis posts:
Here is my one post outside of the one above that have tennis in them:
Pitt,
I agree with you on this one. I think ETSU should have a goal of growing into a consistent high major in basketball and baseball and look to be a national level team in the other sports - tennis and golf. ETSU has been stuck in the same situation for awhile now and it would be nice for ETSU to grow.
Heaven forbid that we root for success in tennis. You make it sound like we should boot against tennis just because you can't go see ETSU football.
When you root against a ETSU football team you root for the smallness of ETSU athletics. When you root for the success of the country club sports on top of that you root for the longevity of ETSU athletic irrelvency.
