SLU has always had attendance problems since moving to the A-10, its just hard for their fanbase to get excited when they play a lot of east coast teams with no connection to the midwest. Since the team has moved to the Chaifetz Arena and Majerus brought the program to relevance, their numbers have climbed, though still aren't that good. Put them in a league with Depaul, Marquette, Xavier, etc. and their attendance will climb, while the increased exposure will help their revenue. Soccer for them will always be strong as well, and they're a great academic fit too. Father Biondi as president is a problem though, he's a my way or the highway kind of guy. I know an employee of the university who was fired just for getting feelers for other jobs.

Really though, SLU will never be very high on St. Louis' pecking order of sports, it's a pro town. I'd say it goes Cardinals, Rams/Blues, Mizzou, with SLU finishing a distant fifth. Still, they do receive decent media coverage from the Post Dispatch and TV,
