Dunleavy turning pro? Perhaps
Duke juniors Jason Williams and Carlos Boozer are headed to the NBA after this season, and classmate Mike Dunleavy hasn't ruled out going, too.For three years Dunleavy has called himself "a four-year player," but he admits his rapid ascension this season from sophomore role player to junior All-American has given him something to think about.
"I've always said I plan to be back next year, but at the same time I'm not one to uses the `n-word' -- never," Dunleavy said. "I never say never."
Dunleavy, a 6-foot-9 shooting guard, then volunteered odds on his return.
"I'd say it's 99.9 percent I won't be in the NBA next year," he said.
He was told Michael Jordan once said the same thing. He laughed all the way into the locker room, then turned and said, "Good point." -- G.D.
