I hear you, man. We've all gotten hardened to the violence we hear about all the time. This one hit me differently. As I peruse media, a clip of, say, Charlie with his wife and kids hits me and I begin to tear up. He absolutely did not deserve to have his life taken and his kids grow up without their dad. Somebody went after him because HE IS EFFECTIVE.

I saw a woman who posted a clip and said that she was a moderate liberal and she is re-evaluating her allegiance to the democrats. Said she is certainly not a republican but can no longer support what her party says and does and what their rhetoric seems to encourage.

But her broader point that she made is worth discussing. She said that our Constitution was made for (paraphrasing here) a Godly country and people and that we are no longer that country. We are not unified but are two tribes conspicuously at odds with each other over the vision for the country. She is correct.

Shooting Kirk was a warning to all. Instead of cowering, those who believe as he did need to continue to stand up and have their voices heard. We need to do it proudly and loudly. Call out those who cheer for political violence and do it publicly. THEY are enemies of our freedom.
