RE: Journalists are LYING about Trump and The South Africa Issue
My standard for asylum would be cases of active government persecution which threatens the lives and property of the victims. We shouldnt take in the worlds poor because they live in violent shitholes, but where governments are engaging in or about to engage in genocide, then yes, we should offer asylum. So central americans are out of luck, but south african farmers are welcome. Historically, this would be consistent with accepting refugees from Cuba, the soviet union, vietnam, darfur etc. I also dont think we should take refugees fleeing civil war or war generally. Severe government persecution is a crime against humanity and we should step in to prevent any type of holocaust.
