I don't believe I've said that about you or your friends, but it seems important to you to believe I (or other 'leftists') did, so OK.

Not you personally, but it is clear the party you support and defend does. Been that way a long time. Tired of it. Apparently, so are millions of others.

Imagine, a liberal telling me my feelings are invalid. Important to "believe"? Is that dismissive, or what?

Not just the Democrats who were calling this out. Plenty of Republicans saw the racism, xenophobia and sexism that he was peddling. They also saw who it was attracting.

Lindsey Graham:
"Here's what you're buying. He's a race-baiting, xenophobic religious bigot. He doesn't represent my party. He doesn't represent the values that the men and women who wear the uniform are fighting for... He's the ISIL man of the year."

Jeb Bush:
"Donald Trump should retract his comments, not defend them. There is no place for racism in the GOP, or this country."

Republican Rep. Reid Ribble of Wisconsin:
"His comments over the weekend are authenticating what I believe is the man's character. Something that walks like a duck, talks like a duck, is likely to be a duck. If you continue to say what I believe are racist statements, you're likely to be a racist."

Rick Perry:
"But the fact is I’ve said very clearly that Donald Trump does not represent the Republican Party. I was offended by his remarks. Listen, Hispanics in America and Hispanics in Texas, from the Alamo to Afghanistan, have been extraordinary people, citizens of our country and of our state. They have served nobly. And to paint with that broad a brush that Donald Trump did is — I mean he’s going to have to defend those remarks. I never will. And I will stand up and say that those are offensive, which they were."

Kasich:
"Attacking judges based on their race &/or religion is another tactic that divides our country. More importantly, it is flat out wrong."

Eventually, the Republicans made the expedient decision to shut up about it. The Dems continued to call it as they see it.
