NFL adopts college kick off rules.
Fair catch on kickoffs and touchbacks will be spotted on the 25.

Interesting NCAA and NFL make moves to reduce the number of kick returns, while the USFL moved the kick-off to the 20 yard line to increase the number of kick returns.

I guess we see both sides of the rule good and bad with Tony Pollard. The rules take away one of the potentially most exciting plays in football, but on the other hand, do you want Pollard returning kicks? Historically, the biggest kick returns come right at the beginning and right at the end of each season; but still.

Kick returns are pretty brutal for injuries so I get it.

I'm all for the team kicking off to accept a 4th and 15 from where the kick is set.

In lieu of an onside kick...interesting idea.

The NFL has studied this and found that a MASSIVE number of concussions and injuries happen on kickoff returns. Thus they are legislating it out as much as possible.

Agree. I’d rather have good players available for offensive plays than being injured in kickoff returns.
