Trailing by 2 points, with 3 seconds left and no timeouts, it didn't look good for our girls who had scored a total of 11 points the whole second half. But a miracle throw by Tia Harvey, from 25 feet or so, went in to give our women the win. We probably didn't "deserve" to win, but you almost always need a couple of bounces to go your way to win a championship. We got one to bounce our way tonight. UT-M was picked to finish second in the league so pulling this one out was a big deal.

When you can go the length of the court and hit a long three pointer at the buzzer you “deserve” to win! The Trojans had to play well enough to be in that position in the first place. Sure there was some luck involved but that is part of the game. I reserve the “didn’t deserve to win” designation for a team that gets a BS ref call that enables that team to win.

Kinda reminds me of an old saying in tennis: “I don’t care how many points you win as long as you win the last one!”. As long as your last basket gives you more points than the other team when the game ends, who cares about the rest! Kinda like the Football Hogs in the Liberty Bowl- there is no such thing as a bad “W”!
