At Stanford. As a consolation the #12 Stanford volleyball team upset #4 Minnesota on the road.

You really wonder what is going on there. Frost was so successful at Central Florida, he is a local hero come home so he should be able to recruit, he has what appears to be a pretty competent staff, and it's just a disaster.
There's something going on that we don't know about.

David Bailiff's A&M-Commerce Lions suffered a heart-breaking fourth quarter collapse at Tennessee Tech. Leading 25-13 with under 8 minutes remaining, A&M-C let TN Tech score TDs on each of their last two drives, including the winning score with 2 seconds left in the game. 25-26 final

It should be a good game. I don’t think we'll be favored to win, but I think there's a decent chance we can pull it off. This is one that we really need to get to a bowl. UH and UAB coming up after. Not good if we can't get this win.

Sun Belt had an unbelievable day yesterday - wins by Marshall (at Notre Dame), App State (at A&M), Georgia Southern (at Nebraska). We have our chance for a win over that power conference next week, but Louisiana will come into the game with a 15-game win streak, the longest active streak in FBS football.

Compare to the Texas coach’s “we didn’t lose - we just ran out of time.”
I guess David could have said “we didn’t lose - we just didn’t run out of time soon enough.”

Nebraska made a terrible mistake leaving the SWC and not joining the Big 12. It killed their recruiting in Texas and they never been the same. (09-11-2022 02:13 PM)westsidewolf1989 Wrote: (09-10-2022 10:43 PM)Owl 69/70/75 Wrote: (09-10-2022 10:27 PM)loki_the_bubba Wrote: LOL

Wonder how long Bloomgren would have lasted if Rice had as quick a hook as Nebraska? Here is an interesting look at what has happened to that program over the last 20 years:
https://www.espn.com/college-football/in...s-tailspin
From option running under Solich to throwing the ball under Callahan to defense under the prickly Pelini to nice guy Riley to boy wonder Frost, Nebraska has kept changing directions and nothing has worked. In retrospect, they would almost certainly been better off to keep Solich. I am still of the belief from conversations with several other coaches and media that there was some funny business going on with walk-ons under Devaney and Osborne, the NCAA cracked down around 2000, and Nebraska simply has not had the same talent pool since. But the extent of the failure under Frost, given his history, is simply incredible.
Hypothetical: Suppose Bloomgren leaves or is terminated after this season, and Frost is too damaged to find a P5 job. Would you want him at Rice?
Obvious landing spot for Frost--as one of Saban's bevy of rehabbing analysts. I think Bama would actually be better off with him as OC than BO'B, but I've just never been a fan of BO'B's play-calling.

Scott frost is a good coach. There's not enough talent willing to play in Nebraska to make them a force in the B10. At UCF, he inherited a good program that was on the rise.
Remember that most of Nebraska's losses are by less than a touchdown. As for him coaching at Rice, I think he should at least be a candidate.

Nebraska was in the Big XII, too, from founding through 2010. They were in the North Division. At a quick glance, they played at least one game in Texas every year.

Yep. I misread the post. Big 8 -> Big 12 -> B1G
