...and I might be out of school here (literally), but... by my count, the mighty MWC has a grand total of 3 picked in the first 3 rounds - that's the same as CUSA, well, if you count Malik Willis of Liberty ... ...but it's yet another example of why I just don't get the MWC hype... solid conference, but I just don't see it overtaking the AAC post-transition...

Yeah new look AAC has 4 drafted thus far from UAB, Tulsa, Memphis and SMU. MWC has 3. Lot can change still though

Memphis should have two more. Calvin Austin was projected 3rd round. I'm sure his size is scaring off people. He's been Mel Kipers first receiver to go. About 10 receivers have gone since that graphic went up. Lol

Seems like you're a bit obsessed about the Mountain West, especially given that they had one more pick in the first three rounds than your conference.
Back to the AAC. Impressive day. The conference has 10 picks so far, good for a tie for 3rd with the Pac-12, leading the ACC and Big 12.

If they played a down in the AAC then count ‘em! (UConn, Penn State).
Also interested in incoming teams’ picks (of course!). Rice has a couple on the board that might pop up today, not holding my breath though.

Nope. I get your point but the media doesn’t so I won’t since it just causes too much confusion. UC likely will have former RB get drafted out of Utah next year. He had some rushes in the American but doesn’t matter.
Also, we had a couple guys Cook (transferred from Howard), Beavers (transferred from UConn), and Ford (transferred from Alabama), all play downs on their former teams that will get drafted this year or already have been. They had their real careers with us but still just too much confusions. Maybe a second tier count former players if it matters to some that much.

Only two schools with more draft picks than UC (5) so far are Georgia with 9 and Alabama with 6. Which ironically are the only two teams that UC has lost to in the last two seasons. It’s wild what Fickell and his staff have done here in just 5 years.

Crazy to see so many early picks from UC. We'll get to 8 total for sure, possibly 9 if Brooks is nabbed. I suspect we end up with the 3rd or 4th highest number of picks.
Hoping the AAC stays in the top 4 conferences.

...well, honestly, I think the 'endgame' down the road COULD well be a merger of the AAC and MWC, once the top 2-3 programs from each conference is nabbed by others in the 'next round'... so, I'm not ANTI-MWC, just more PRO-AAC... again, I was generally out of school - and I concur, back to the draft talk - hoping all teams, past, present, and future fare well from here on out...

Fair. And I do agree that there's an increasing likelihood of a merger situation, which may not be all bad.
And, despite UC leaving the American, I'm a big fan of the UAB add. The program has had such a crazy ride this past decade, but the upside is huge! Cheers to you. And back to the draft!

Won the award for best defensive back in the country and was the third player selected from UC’s defensive backfield
