Something tells me it's going to be up to Evan Prater to force his way onto the field. I imagine a bunch of packages for Prater will be built into the early gameplans with Bryant getting the bulk of the reps. With Whyle, Taylor, and much of the OL coming back the Cats should be really difficult to defend around the line of scrimmage. Hopefully the staff can figure out a way to optimize the scheme pretty quick.

With basketball stuck in the mud it feels like we are on the brink of completing the transition to full on football school.

Bolded, yes I agree. With 30 years since a Final Four appearance, it's been frustrating. I'm cautiously optimistic that Wes will build something here as Luke has done. He has a historically significant program, a top flight arena (with more upgrades on the way I'm sure), and will be recruiting to the best conference in the country. The stage is set for his future success here.

100% it’s where the money is so should be main focus with basketball a close second due to history.

I have noticed my attention to college basketball as a whole has fallen off dramatically from what it once was (Idk who is even ranked 1 right now unless I looked it up) and seems to be that way for most I talk to (granted I would expect people to know who number 1 is haha).

I know very few that follow any other team to know what’s going on, for me it would be Ohio State and XU (so I can rag on those friends with poor choices), on a game to game basis anymore and seems to be a big change from the 2000’s that’s not just my generation.

2022 Schedule...really rough patch in the middle. At SMU, At UCF, then a short week before Navy...that'll test some mettle. No Houston or Memphis...saving grace a little bit there.

Navy home game with Homecoming…I’m already looking forward to!

I obviously would love both Houston and Memphis on the schedule but a positive take away would be we aren’t a playoff contender and this schedule gives us the best chance for winning a conference champ, being ranked high, and playing in a NYD bowl.

Either way can’t wait!

USF is the Homecoming game, Navy just has an asterisk in their logo...definitely confusing.

If we pull off the upset of Arkansas in Week 1, don't count out the playoff next year. Unlikely, but we will be ranked in the top 10 after week one, and if we go undefeated will slowly edge toward the top 4.

I actually expect more like 3-4 losses, but the dream is still there.

Yeah, I'm thinking 9-3 regular season and flirting with the Top 25 and CCG, plus a bowl win against some 6-6 P5 school with our ****** bowl matchups.

Not any decent road trips, except UCF. Drive over from Siesta Key.

I don't know...situationally, I think ECU could easily be a toss-up. They return a whole lot, get us coming off of a bye, and we have our toughest 3 game stretch immediately preceding, including a game against the ACL hunters one week prior.

Indiana is a weird one...they lost basically every impact player from last year's team on both sides of the ball, but I'm more scared now with Bazelak in there for their offense than I was last year with Penix...especially with how much turnover we have on D.

Fair concerns in both cases. This will be ECU's last shot at playing UC and we've seen some tough games against the Pirates. IU just had an unbelievable recruiting year--maybe its best ever. I don't know if that will translate to more wins and we know Nipp is a tough place for any visiting team so I'm cautiously optimistic on that one.

I've renewed season tickets but I can't recall if Miami is in the package; anyone know? If not, I'm surprised we weren't given the option to add that one at renewal time along with PBS parking.

We are going to be better than both Indiana and ECU. Neither should be a pushover, but we are better and more importantly they have to come to Nippert. It's really hard for road teams to win at Nippert. Both of these are likely wins (doesn't mean we can't lose, you can lose likely win type games with a couple bad breaks or a bad performance).

Indiana is a bit of an enigma going into 2022. They will have a new OC and DC (Chad Wilt who was our DL coach for a cup of coffee). They will have a new QB (Missouri transfer Connor Blazelak) and I think there is concern Tom Allen has “lost the locker room”. I think IU is either going to be terrible next season or they will circle the wagons and be really good.

Obviously the biggest question for UC is how good is all these new guys who will be getting 1A and 1B going to be next year and how soon does this team gel. I don’t think we will truly know until this fall for sure but it will be fun to speculate.
