The games against Drexel are always fun. They have a nice win vs. Charlotte in a Bahamas tournament and a win vs. St. Joe's. Their scheduled games against Temple and LaSalle were postponed. As always, they have played one of the tougher out of conference schedules in the CAA.

I'm sure this one will be a rock fight, always seems to be.

Per UNCW website, the drexel game has been postponed due to covid-19 problems with the drexel team.

I can't believe they have these idiotic protocols in place still. Why? If you want the third, fourth, fifth shots, get them. You are responsible for yourself at this point. Hard to believe the most fact free, anti science responses are coming from universities.

They were on pause from the 18th and did nothing for the last 10 days. They have very strict protocols there. And that’s even with required booster shots

Don’t care. It’s stupid. All while the CDC reduces the quarantine time from 10 days to 5 to keep people going to work. Literally, that’s the reason. Because… science.

This may be our toughest matchup in CAA play. Drexel is really good when they shoot the three but they don't rely on it. UNCW needs to get to the bucket on offense but Drexel will likely be able to get in front of us like JMU did and stop penetration. BUT, as long as we drive and do our thing we should be able to draw fouls on the drive.

The difference is going to be FT's and we're going to turn over Drexel more than usual. In 8 games UNCW has attempted 166 FT's while Drexel has attempted only 103.

It’s not going to be easy. Hawks have to get back up mentally. This reminds me of when the USA beat USSR in hockey but needed to beat a good Finland team to win gold. Every game is important especially at home for UNCW at this point.

If Hawks can beat everyone at home, that would be big for trying to win the CAA regular season which is automatic NIT. Drexel is good.

Exactly why I said this:

"This may be our toughest matchup in CAA play."

Drexel is an interesting team. Bell has really emerged as an efficient scorer to compliment Wynter. Butler is now back but Williams really stepped up in his absence and gives them rim protection and a guy that finds a way near the cup via terrific athletic ability. Washington is back which is a problem and Juric can give you a real boost as well. Martin has been a good addition.

They run some good stuff in half court as well so Hawks will have to guard. Hawks need to buckle down and work to get stops.

Shy and Mike should look either get down hill off weave action or even some clear outs for Shy to go to work in this one. Sims can continue to pick his spots and make the proper reads. A chaotic fast paced game favors the Hawks. If nothing else, Hawks need to win the fast break point battle via good ball pressure and try to work near even or better on glass- won’t be easy.

We are 1.5 point favorites with 44.4% chance of winning. Over/under is 139.5.
