When I moved to North Carolina we lived about a mile from Guilford College. Really small but really nice campus. Our local YMCA was located at the campus and built a great swim facility and basketball courts for rec play.
The claim to fame of Guilford College when I lived there was a basketball player called World B. Free(Lloyd Bernard Free). He graduated a few years before we arrived. As a freshman he led Guilford College to the NAIA championship and was the MVP of the NAIA tournament.
I have some great memories of tackle football on their small football field, swimming at the Y and a whole lot of basketball which I never played until moving to NC.

My mom is a Guilford grad and was friends with M.L. Carr while in school. When I was a young teenager, it blew my mind that my mom was "friends" with the Celtics head coach.
So apparently we only follow local ordinances when it’s Convenient. New Hanover County just removed indoor mask requirements however UNCW athletics just put out a statement saying they will still be required for all indoor events including tonight. Frustrating, always a moving target

When we went to the UNCW NC State hockey game in Fayetteville, the ticket lady said we had to put a mask one before we could go in, per county ordinance
Here's my preview for tonight -- obviously not a very exciting opponent, but glad they'll get a chance to work some stuff out against an opponent.
Biggest thing I'd like to see tonight is getting Jamarii settled into the backup PG role. Can't afford a situation like Tuesday, when we had Okauru take most of those minutes.

Really disappointed with the Chancellor on the whole Covid nonsense. This is stupid and anti science.
I can't imagine there is even a decent crowd tonight. Guilford college during a holiday weekend.
Siddle definitely looking to put experience on the floor to start the year. We'll see if that changes as the season wears on.
If we're going to win this season we're going to have to hit the three ball. Great chance to let it fly during a game situation even if it's against a DIII team. Sims has always struggled to drive and finish, usually relying on drawing fouls, so we really need him to be a serious threat from three along with Fornes. And Okauru and Phillips are the exact opposite, usually better finishing in the paint then from three.
We have also got to find a way for Thomas to run the point when Phillips is out and have no idea why he played so little against IllSt. Honestly, when Okauru runs point we look like the bad UNCW team under McGrath. He shouldn't run the point unless we Phillips and Thomas are in serious foul trouble.

This is an absolutely pathetic start against a team we should be murdering

Guilford has a better half court offense than we do. They set picks to get their guys open and we pretty much stand around the perimeter while one guy dribbles. Practically no movement, cuts, picks, nothing. Pitiful. If this doesn't change drastically, we will finish last in the CAA and it won't even be close.
Siddle was iffy on Okauru and whether he would start this year, he may be in the doghouse after tonight. He and Fornes may needs to move on for some younger guys.

It’s early in the season. No reason to rush judgement on the season. Our play in 1 and a half games has been puzzling and frustrating, but we have a lot of new players and I am sure we are seeing the kinks that Siddle needs to iron out over the next couple months. Now I am in agreement our most glaring concern is a woeful half court offense that is strictly a bunch of dribbling. Our defense thrives on a strong offense and our offense has been offensive. We will win this game, but interested in how we match up with bottom of the barrel ACC Pitt team.
The lone bright spot in the first half to me was Thomas. He played very well on both ends of the floor. Whatever message coach wanted to send last game got through

Fornes was our best 3 pt threat against Illinois St. At the same time I don’t think he should be playing as many minutes as he is. White needs more minutes and will be a stud here. Okauru needs to get his confidence back. But that goes back to our woeful offense.

If someone else could hit a shot that might cut his minutes
