I’ve said a hundred times on here already, I get why the teams at the edge of the conference want more teams in their region. We all get it, and ultimately we all want it. Well as realignment junkies, that's just a 101 fact. Right up there with no stAte for Memphis, no NM St for UTEP, no Marshall or WKU without a Florida school, GS and App St are Ride or Die, GSU wants peers, Liberty has too much cash, and ECU has been proposed for nearly every conference because nobody knows where they belong.

ECU belongs in a league that doesn't exist and most likely never will. It belongs in a south eastern football first league with schools that reside in college towns that have similar budgets/commitment levels and draw similar crowds to them, in the 30-50k range. Basically a miniature SEC. I understand you'll argue the Sun-Belt is building something like that, and in some ways you guys are, but App is really the only school that comes close/will get to that budget/commitment/crowd level. App has a ceiling to probably get attendance up to 35-40k and have a budget in line with ECU's or close enough, but it's not very realistic anyone else is getting to that level soon if ever. ECU always proposes regionalization when they have the power to shape realignment decisions, it's why ODU is in C-USA right now. However, when push comes to shove and they have to choose between regionalization or being in the best conference possible or being at the highest level possible it chooses the latter.
