I just finished watching most of the NIU-BG game press conference with Hammock and the players. Players involved were James Ester, Lance Deveaux, Liam Soroghan, and Brayden Patton.

Coach Hammock

- Said the missed kick at Toledo was not Richardson's fault but an operation error. Also that they are practicing FG blocking coverage because he felt it was an issue in that game.

- Said they want to score TDs in the red zone and not settle for FGs but they know that Richardson is an automatic 3 points if they have to settle for those.

- Said we get some injured players back this week but wouldn't give names.

- Said our depth is helping us through the injuries and allowing us to sustain our success. Mentioned Trey Urwiler and Louis Frye have played on special teams unit due to their play. He said Jay Ducker was on the scout team a couple weeks ago because he wasn't playing well enough so he worked hard to come back.

- Said Toledo coaches were scouting and looking across the field at his team while they were preparing and he found that interesting because he didn't look at their team and instead always keeps his focus on his own players.

NIU players

- They said their confidence in these close, one-score games comes from their preparation, which includes preparing for certain situations.

On preparing for BG:
- Liam said the TE group is focused on the stunts and movements that BG defense likes throw at teams
- Lance said the LB group is focused on eye discipline since BG likes to do trick plays on offense
- James said DL group is focused on getting after the QB and making havoc in the backfield
- Brayden said OL group is focused on always being the most physical group and fundamentals

I heard that Candle also scouts our players using the bathroom pre-game for endowment purposes.
