I watched the Chargers play the Browns. These guy were well coached. Charger runner purposely went down at 2 yard line so his team could burn the clock near end of game. If this was done by UT v Notre Dame, UT would have won. Toledo guys are not coached to think.

Even more amazing, Browns pushed Charger runner over goal line on purpose on next play so they could get ball back sooner rather than later.

Candle never thinks like this. He is totally incompetent at clock management. We need a coach that actually understands what is needed to win and teaches his players to think based on the situation.

We also used to hardly ever lose at home. Now we hardly win.

That statistic says a lot.

I guess inflation is so bad that even mediocrity has become expensive.

Im gona blame day before and pre game routine. Something needs to change. Thats on Candle, staff, Dofo, managers, all of it and NOT the players. I dont love our home game environment, but we are spoiled. If the fans leave happy, theyll come back happy and energized.

For better or for worse i see more heartbreak coming. The division isnt wrapped up and wont be until November. So i see us getting back in the race then getting pushed out of contention again. 9-3 makes me a happy camper. Fingers crossed. Breath not held...

Weren't you guys something like 33-2 at home at one point? Glass Bowl was a house of horrors.

NIU had a similar stretch between QBs Harnish and Lynch. But nothing close to that since.

Yes — when I lived in Toledo growing up and went to every home game, I recall them rarely losing at home.

Would winning out justify a 1 year deal extension to give new AD an eval period?

Forget the MAC title, if Candle goes 5-2 the rest of the season, I’ll shut up about his removal and let him ride out his contract. I say no way this team finishes 8-4

The contract still has to be approved by higher authority in the University, correct? There would be a whole lot of audacity going on if he were given more than a one year at-risk with reduced base back to MAC norm.

Candle is not getting an extension and with six games left I find it really hard to believe this team will be any better than 7-5, perhaps get to a bowl (although what would be the point) and very possible they end up 6-6. Unless wheels really fall off (they end up 4-8), I also doubt MOB as a lame duck AD is going to fire Candle, even though he probably should.

After the game in Southbend I really thought we would have a great season. I won’t get my hopes up like that again. At least not while Candle is running things.
