I think we need to go back to some Lynch-era concepts in the passing game. Rocky can run and he can throw a deep ball. Anything other than that is where it gets dicey. Keep his passes to a lot of screens/short passes and then take shots over the top.

Agreed, they need to find a way to play to his strengths. They are not doing that right now and we have good receivers who can make people miss with quick slants, screens, and laterals. Just find easier ways to get the ball into our receivers hands.

I do like Rocky's resolve. He is one tough guy out there and can make plays when needed. That 20 yard gain on a rush and that dime to Ritchie within the 10-yard line.

The coaches finally listened to us on defense. I’d love to see a wider variety of runs by the Rock. What’s with the QB sweep???? Need more spread option, pitch option, QB draws. Also need a wide variety of short passes to get Rocky going like you talked about. I’m being greedy now but would also like to see the DBs jump some passes. Do we not study film????

We are 4-2 and winning close games though. You’ve got to give our guys credit. They’re a young team showing poise in pressure filled situations….

They listened to us…or more likely someone the staff trusts explained the schematic flaws in whatever the heck they call what they were “trying” to do. You attack up front, man behind it. Easy. I don’t think I trust the safeties to jump routes yet, they don’t even understand who to cover.

If I am a future opponent I just watched how notion and formation concepts confuse the safeties on this defense. You can bet next game you are going to see motion, stacked WRs, and trips all day long.

On the MAC site, game recaps they call NIU/Toledo, "one of the MAC's most storied competitive rivalries".

A "rebuilding" NIU just took a big creamy dump on Toledo's homecoming weekend, nice new wrinkle to the non-official rivalry.

I said this last week and people thought I was the devil incarnate. Guess it takes two weeks for people to believe their eyes.

Toledo listed it’s attendance at 21,284. There were not that many there, unless Toledo’s stadium has a capacity of 50K.
