Sadly, my 8th grader is masked up all day. Except during PE class. Except during band class. Except in the lunchroom. It's SCIENCE!

You watch stuff like this happen, and you still don't believe it. When people line up to buy tickets to get on the subway or buses, they social distance. Then when they are on the subway and buses, they are packed together like sardines. Many have "explained" to me that mass transportation is an essential service that is needed.

I try to explain to them, that keeping the 1% open (subway, buses, Costco, Walmart, grocery stores) that causes 99% of the spread, while closing 99% of the mom and pop stores and restaurants that cause 1% of the spread makes no sense.

If you question the logic, they think you are crazy.

Agreed. And here in Oklahoma, you rarely see people in masks anymore. We went to the Tulsa State Fair this past weekend and the crowds were enormous. Saw maybe a dozen people wearing masks, out of the thousands in attendance.

And, it's been like this here for months. Out and about, very few are wearing masks. One would think that deaths in OK would be off the charts. But alas, no.

To get the answer, I would need to check on a month to month basis from state to state. I will say this. As someone who has spent a lot of time checking this stuff, the eye test is telling me that Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi and South Carolina have had relative spikes in their death rates compared to other states. So while the actual number of deaths have gone down, they have gone down less comparatively to other states.

Connecticut, Michigan and Illinois, seemed to have improved comparatively. Texas holding steady even though they have largely rejecting mandates and Florida doing comparatively well despite having a very old population.

I would like to know why Washington and Oregon are #45 and #47 in deaths per million; given all of the protests and masses of people not social distancing for many months.

Then you have to consider the age of those that have died; the effects on the economy, long term medical problems for those that don't die; all kinds of stuff. There isn't any data that you can use that proves that one way is significantly better than the next. It's weird.

I don't know; it's a lot of data.

You can argue your right to refuse, and I will support you.
You can say there is danger for side effects, and I guess there is.
But if you say the vax doesn't work, you are ignoring the data.

When the chance of getting a rare side effect is greater than the chance of getting something as serious from the disease itself, then its stupid to do it. It called negative EV with your life.

When you say it works, well, you dont mean that it will prevent you from getting the disease like other true vaccines. Or that it will keep you from spreading the disease like other true vaccines.

What it does seem to do is to cut down the number of serious complications in the elderly, and possibly younger people with comorbidities.

Which means if you are younger and not fat, the vax aint going to do anything for you. (Other than let you into the fedex forum so you can spew the covid virus to everyone else)

Since this thread hasn't discussed anything actually having to do with Tiger games and/or FedEx Forum for pages, I think we're all done here. Locking the thread. If you want to continue to argue, start a thread in the political/religious forums.
