Breaking news today out of Houston that Texas and Oklahoma have reached out to the SEC about joining. If it should come to pass, it could start another tidal wave of conference realignment.

This is interesting. But I highly doubt if it any MAC teams would be in the mix in a ripple effect. And I’m really only interested in the MAC and G5 teams and what happens with them.

Most likely it will just be a realignment of the P5 haves and have nots. Plus, it sounds like A&M would fight tooth and nail to keep Texas out of the SEC and the Missouri’s and South Carolina’s of the conference probably wouldn’t like being pushed down to even less notoriety in the conference pecking order.
