What’s he going to add about TJ3 that we don’t already know? The man’s been here a decade.

I don’t understand the Dudley hate.

Has he seen the guys do anything the entire off-season? How does TJ3 look right now? Does he still look hurt? Can he actually throw a ball? He could answer just a couple of those things.

Much as Iwould like to know that I’d rather keep info like that out of the press. Remember, his primary task isn’t to write for the hardcore, but put something semi-interesting that will draw eyeballs of folks who aren’t sold already

And if you think that is crap you should see the coverage Maryland gets in the Washington Post-their local paper. I suspect they would love to have our beat writers

There is nothing interesting or of note at all in that article. TJ3 is an 85th year senior, we all knew that. Both the backups have started games and have major flaws, we all knew that too. The other guys are likely too young or inexperienced to be involved this year. Shocker. Just write nothing if that’s all that’s going to be put out.

My problem with him is there is no substance. A real beat reporter would look ahead, not just rehash old stats and facts. These position breakdowns are simply rewriting the roster. There is plenty we don't know about Tyler. Do some reporting. Find out his current health and expectations. Dig into what makes him a winning quarterback despite making some mistakes. Find out how much confidence Hopkins gained with a strong spring and was last year frustrating for him. Talk to Lucero about what last year meant for him. Dudley has no beat writer instincts and that's the reason for my "Dudley hate." Instead of real stories we will get more of these worthless position breakdown stories.

If only Christina Chambers was our beat writer instead of becoming a HS teacher

I lived in Pittsburgh during the 70’s and vaguely remember reading about Pitt winning the national championship in college football in 1976. They got a whole paragraph on page 6 of the sports section
