Idea for a completely different MLS
As crazy as this sounds, I think MLS actually has too few teams, and while I appreciate MLS trying to be original, MLS needs to look to the U.S.A.'s favorite sport for inspiration: the NFL.
Imagine combining the current MLS teams with these teams as well. The NFL actually had some of its teams named after MLB teams, why can't MLS do the same with the NFL as inspiration!?

Credit to Chris Creamer's logo website for this idea:

https://boards.sportslogos.net/topic/121...sover-afc/

If there is waayyy too many teams in doing this, and there could be, I will go back and eliminate a few teams and then we'll see where we are

Should I do that, the original MLS team will be left in that market/city, except for a few rare exceptions.

Here is my new MLS

Atlanta United FC
Austin FC
Charlotte FC
Chicago Fire
Colorado Rapids
Columbus Crew
DC United
FC Dallas
FC Cincinnati
Houston Dynamo
Inter Miami FC
LA Galaxy
LA Rams FC (replaces old LAFC)
Minnesota United FC
Club de Foot Montreal
Tennessee Titans FC (replaces old Nashville FC)
New England Revolution
New York Red Bulls
New York Giants FC (replaces NYC FC)
Orlando City SC
Philadelphia Union
Portland Timbers
Real Salt Lake
San Jose Earthquakes
Seattle Sounders FC
Sporting KC (it is a rather bland team name, but it does have some history behind it)
St Louis City FC
Toronto FC
Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Tampa Bay Rowdies FC
Calgary Flames FC
New Jersey Cosmos FC
Arizona Cardinals FC
Atlanta Falcons
Dallas Cowboys
Philadelphia Eagles FC
Chicago Bears FC
Detroit Lions
Green Bay Packers
San Francisco 49ers FC
Seattle Seahawks
Buffalo Bills
Baltimore Ravens FC
Miami Dolphins
Boston Patriots
San Diego Bengals FC (a nod to the San Diego Zoo. Uses Cincinnati Bengals kit)
Cleveland Browns FC
Pittsburgh Steelers FC
Houston Texans SC
Indianapolis Colts
Jacksonville Jaguars FC
St Louis Broncos SC (uses Denver Broncos kit)
KC Chiefs FC
LA Chargers FC
Oakland Raiders FC
Las Vegas Vikings FC (uses Minnesota Vikings kit)
Tampa Buccaneers SC
Edmonton Oilers FC
Carolina Panthers FC (Raleigh)
New Orleans Saints FC
FC Montreal Canadiens
Toronto Maple Leafs
Winnipeg Jets FC
FC Quebec Nordiques

Also, I used the NHL as an inspiration for the additional Canadian teams.

RE: Idea for a completely different MLS
I think they want to get up to 30 or so like the 4 other major USA pro leagues. They've been expanding a lot lately.

Ok, if you like LAFC, don't replace them. It just kind of a dull name in my opinion.

To me, LA Rams FC or LA Chargers FC would be a much better name, but that is my opinion.

Probably cap out at 32.... like most leagues. It kind of gets scheduling off when you don't entertain multiples of 4.

And yet I hear rumors of NFL expansion despite the fact that they are at 32 teams. Why not try something bold for soccer???

Actually, now that I think about it, EPJr2, the real reason you stopped reading was not because I said "replace LAFC" but rather because I went over 32 teams. You and your small mind!!!

What happens to the teams that finish at the bottom of this Super-MLS? Do they get relegated to the NFL? 07-coffee3

It's possible that they get relegated to another tier in the league. The idea is to capture fans with a known brand:

How many people have heard of LAFC vs how many people have heard of the LA Rams??

How many people have heard of NYFC vs how many people have heard of NY Giants or the NY Jets??
