RE: 2021-22 NHL Thread
Ovi had 48 goals in the calendar year of 2021.

And would think for 2022, the break during the Olympics now(they have like 4 makeups in there, but still a lot of time off there)- will do him a lot of good. He's up to 754 right now. 49 games left in the season right now for the Caps. He could be up near 780 after this year(26 goals in 49 games seems pretty possible).

gee whiz, Golden Knights pulled out a tough one on the road at the Caps. Nail-biter 1-0 win. Robin Lehner stepped up in goal. Tough raod trip this is, said Yoda.

The 'Lanche are out of control good this year at 34-8-4 after whipping the Stars last night.
Vegas will get them on Wednesday after a looooong layoff from their recent road trip. Wonder if Eichel will be activated for that, or targeted by the 'Lanch?

yeah, well, ah, good to finally see Eichel back on the Ice...scoreless through 2 periods, but the 'Lanche are really good this year and it's a'gonna be tough to beat them in the playoffs. Golden Knights have been passed by Flames for Div lead...not having scored points in quite a while will tend to do that to ya.

G Robin Lehner Injured for Vegas Golden Knights. Backup G Laurent Brossoit looks to be their main guy in goal for now. This explains the recent plateauing. Despite reports, McCrimmon says the Fleury rumors are not true.

Yeah, you guy have been playing well...better than we have of late.

Still...Jack eichel scores his first goal for Vegas, and first in almost a year after his neck surgery:

Eichel's 1st Vegas goal leads Knights past Sharks 4-1

Finally some points. Let's hope this continues as we're behind.

Probably more important for Vegas right now, Logan Thompson got the win in his second career start in goal. Thompson, who lost his first start last month against Nashville, made 35 saves. With lehner out injured long term, this will be a huge confidence-boost for the young backup goalie.

Flames won and we lost a heartbreaker to the "Lanche after leading most of the game.

LAS VEGAS -- — Nathan MacKinnon scored in the third period to lift the Colorado Avalanche to a 3-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday night.

The Avalanche overcame a 2-1 deficit by scoring two goals 26 seconds apart early in the third period, with J.T. Compher tying the game and MacKinnon burying the go-ahead goal in front of 18,333 in attendance.

Gotta hand it to Colorado for being able to comeback, but wow what a letdown for the Knights.

“Boy, we left it out there,” Vegas coach Peter DeBoer said. “That’s exactly how we want to play, going into the third with a lead. We gave them three shots in the third, they scored two. ... We did a lot really good things, except win.”

Colorado leads the league with 82 points, while Vegas has dipped to third place in the Pacific Division.

Was pleasantly surprised to see Robin Lehner back in goal for the Golden Knights in last night's win over the Sharks. With Calgary playing very well of late, it's time to get things going and go on a win streak here.
