How about a home and home with Arizona State? They play here this year. Marreon could have one final game before the local crowd. We did not get to see him play in person this year due to Covid so it would be awesome to give him a standing ovation one last time---even if he is with our opponent.

RE: 2021 22 Mens Hoop Schedule Thread
I think Bradley and Detroit both owe us games at Savage this upcoming season from home and home series games played on the road two years ago and which were not scheduled during the COVID season. If we continue the home and home series with Cleveland St, we will play them on the road this upcoming season.

RE: 2021 22 Mens Hoop Schedule Thread
My understanding is Marshall and Bradley are both headed to Savage and we travel to Cleveland St, to complete existing home and home agreements. Jones may well be right about the Detroit game too, but I can't recall that one.

My version looks like

Valpo
Bradley
Marshall
Detroit ?
@Cleveland St
@ MSU
@ Richmond
Bahamas tourney neutral court 3 games (Lehigh, Samford, Charlotte, Loyola Marymount, Drexel, Valpo (other side of the bracket presumably), 1 more team maybe MWC or Sun Belt based on past fields)
1 more non-conf game probably home (would like to see this be another solid opponent A10, AAC, lower level Big East/Big10, wouldn't be surprised to see a Horizon or Valley team here)

That's a great idea across the sport.

Great schedule so far

I’d love to see us do 1:1’s with Loyola ILL, Duquesne and St Bonaventure.

No more Detroit or Wright State.

Detroit or Oakland or Wright are nice games for both teams because they are close. I would like a Purdue Fort Wayne series for purely selfish reasons

RE: 2021 22 Mens Hoop Schedule Thread
Solid series to conintue. Easy travel, modest costs. Respectable opponent. I like that the games are all scheduled during fall semester and the students and band will be there. Oakland is a kind of like a MAC auxilliary opponent. What is interesting is the series resumes there, which means we got 9 scheduled games out of a possible 11. Of those 9, there are 4 true road, 3 neutral court road, and only 2 home games. Hopefully, we get that Bradley return game that was taken off the schedule because of COVID before last season. Iʻd previously posted that we owed a return game to Cleveland St, but checked the history and that 4 game series started there, and finished last season. Iʻm assuming we get another home game, regardless of the Bradley situation. Itʻs been a while since we brought in a big name team to Savage, probably since Joplin beat OSU. The closest was probably Penn and St Joes in the same season (Joplin had Depaul and Xavier too, Coach Weshallnotsayhisname had Umass and I think Alabama) Like everyone Iʻd love to see us find a way to get a Big 10 or Big East type team in here, even a lower level one like Northwestern or Depaul or Pitt. More realistic might be a lower profile MW, American or A10 team on a home and home basis beginning at Toledo. If itʻs a buy game. Hoping itʻs not a complete unknown D1 UT-River Grande type team or a D3 in anything other than an exhibition. I prefer paying an Ivy, Army, Navy, well known HBCU like Howard or Hampton. Iʻd do a home and home with an Academy or Howard or Florida A&M, best band in the country and UT would be a big non-conf home game for them. Would be a fun game for the team and an enticing road trip for UT fans. If you add a solid opponent to Marshall,. Detroit and Bradley, thatʻs a respectable home schedule.

Gotta have a garbage opponent you can clear the bench for. It’s the only time those kids will play with TK at the helm never going beyond 7 deep

Old bit I know

And why not Wright State ? Because they have been
kicking UT's but. Time to turn the tables on the Raiders !

I would like a game play at Dayton. I think UT has always play well and tough (even winning once there with a last second bucket) in the UD arena, great venue for Rocket fans to see. They have remodeled the arena.

coach k has said that heʻs tried every which way (home n home, 2 for 1, single road game) to play UC, X, and Dayton. Last year he finally broke through and got X to play us, but Dayton has been unwilling.

RE: 2021 22 Mens Hoop Schedule Thread
None of them are worth more than a home and home unless we're desperate to fill a sudden hole in the schedule. It's bad messaging any other way.
