SBC Baseball Schedules?
I am seriously confused about the Sun Belt Conference baseball schedule and standings. Going into this weekend, Louisiana, Little Rock, and Texas State were all tied at 9-9 in the conference standings. LR and the Cajuns played non conference series in the last three days, but Texas State went 2-1 at home against South Alabama. Yet the standing remain with the three way tie all at 9-9.

So I started counting conference games on each team’s schedule. Little Rock has 24 scheduled, Louisiana, 26, and Texas State 27. What gives here?

I read somewhere that TxSt vs. USA was nonconference series. Thought that was strange. Not like they are all that close.

Thinking about it further, I guess they both needed a weekend series and couldn't find a a non-conference team, like we did with Sam Houston, to play this past weekend.

Coastal and Louisiana played a 4th game that was OOC and the TxSt and USA was OOC

So if I understand this correctly, the “official” conference schedule for each SBC baseball team will be 24 games, even if they play more than that number of games against conference opponents. How does a casual observer know which games are “official” SBC games and which aren’t?

Obviously they don't. Probably each team's schedule does note which games are officially "conference" games and which are not. Unless you are a fan of that particular school, you probably never looked at their schedule.

Only way I found out was the SBC site doesn’t show those games. ULL/CC didn’t count the Thursday Game and the entire series did not count last weekend for TxSt/USA. Not sure how you can find out except afterwards
