Kentucky will look for its 23rd straight regular season win when it faces Marshall in its annual neutral-site game at U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati on Monday.
The 10th-ranked Wildcats (2-0) have dominated the Thundering Herd (1-1), winning all 10 previous meetings in the series, which began in 1914. Kentucky won 90-73 in the last contest, on Nov. 16, 2001.

The Wildcats are also 7-1 all-time in U.S. Bank Arena, formerly known as the Firstar Center and Riverfront Coliseum, and have won the last three games there.

Kentucky won its first two games this season, including a 108-81 rout over Tennessee Tech on Friday. All five starters scored in double figures and combined for 99 points.

Gerald Fitch had a career-high 36 points on 14-of-29 shooting. The 6-3 senior guard -- averaging 24 points a game this season -- is just 31 points away from becoming the 50th member of the school's 1,000-point club.

Cliff Hawkins finished with career-highs 17 points and 11 assists, while Chuck Hayes had 13 points and 13 rebounds. Erik Daniels scored 17 points, and Kelenna Azubuike added a career-high 16.

Kentucky coach Tubby Smith is 4-0 against Marshall first-year head coach Ron Jirsa -- a former assistant of Smith's who succeeded him at Georgia.

``I'm really proud of guys like ... Ron Jirsa. They have been responsible for who I am and what we've been able to achieve,'' Smith said. ``But all is fair in love and war. We have to do our job and get the job done. Sometimes, it is like a sibling rivalry -- you bring out the best in one another.''

Marshall rebounded from a season-opening 65-56 loss to North Carolina-Wilmington to defeat Morehead State 85-71 Saturday.

``We've got to do better at what we're doing, no matter who the opponent is,'' said Jirsa, when asked about facing Smith and Kentucky. ``You can only control what you can control.''

Senior Marvin Black, Marshall's top returning scorer, seems to have recovered from a hamstring injury that limited him to two points and 17 minutes in the season opener.

He had 16 points, including 8-for-10 shooting on free throws, and 11 rebounds against Morehead State.

Wasn't too bad. At least Marshall didn't fold up and get blown out!
