I am glad he got to play in the NCAA tournament before this tragic accident. This is a huge loss to GCU, the WAC, and the basketball community at large.

I think there are a ton of ways GCU can/will honor Oscar. I would be fine if they wanted to retire 4. I would not even consider retiring 0 and 2. DeWayne has been my favorite player in the D1 era, but his number should not be retired, not at this time at least. I don't see any validity to retiring Josh Braun's number. If you want to retire his knee braces, then we can talk. There were great players before the lopes leaped to D1 and their numbers are not retired: T.C. Dean #13, Bayard Forest #50, Horacio Llamas also #50... I'd start with these guys before we consider players within the last 10 years. Anyway, I'm kind of a fan of a ring of honor around the arena. I think that would be a nice way of honoring players of the past.
