If Brad Stevens were to take the Indiana job, folks had better watch out. One of the best young coaches in the game at one of the monster programs.

I heard he has no intentions on leaving the Celtics. Some of these rumored names in their coaching search are pretty bold. Some people think Chris Beard would leave for them too. I’m not convinced.

Coach Stevens made his strongest denial of interest in the job yesterday. Of course, coaches do that all the time and then leave for the job. For some reason, I tend to take him at his word.

While Coach Beard worked under Coach Knight, he is a Texas guy. Not sure why he would be interested in moving to Indiana. Not saying Texas Tech is his last gig, but don't see why Indiana would be his "dream" job.

Coach Drew is an Indiana guy. Would he leave what he has built at Baylor? I have no clue but I, at least, see him as a reasonable possibility.

A lot of times it is the best coaches who particularly dislike the slime of recruiting. No recruiting in the NBA.

Kenny Payne, another Knick's assistant has withdrawn his name from the Depaul job. Maybe with Woodson leaving he moves up in the Knicks' hierarchy. Or he knows someone else is getting the DePaul job. Dennis Gates (Cleveland State head coach), Jon Scheyer (Duke assistant), and Moser are said to be leading candidates.
