WNIT
The WNIT has been very good for MAC basketball, and the success there has a lot to do with building MAC Womens basketball to the point where we have been somewhere between #7 and #9 in power ranking over the last 4 years. Normally they take 64 teams and the MAC would have 3-5 of those spots. plus MAC teams have had a lot of home games over the years. One year Toledo went 6-0, all at home, to win the WNIT with the semifinals and finals on CBSSN before packed houses. BG and Ohio have both had some success there too.

Anyway, this year the format has changed because of Covid, only 32 teams and they are divided into 4 regional sites. Bowling Green and Ohio are the only two who got in this year, but if they took 64 we would have had 2 or 3 more.

RE: WNIT
They took 32 teams in the WNIT and unfortunately UB is #33. So apparently the Bulls are the first Covid replacement team and are allowed to continue practicing.

Ohio falls to Clemson 65-60. Ohio took a 1 point lead with 40 seconds left. Clemson made a floater with 14 seconds left and stole the inbound. Ohio fouled, and it was ruled a flagrant. Clemson made all 4 FT and got the ball to seal it. I didn’t see it but the Ohio beat reporter was surprised it was called flagrant.

It looks like Creighton beat Bowling Green, 72-65. Too bad. The Falcons are very young and I look forward to seeing them get even better.

RE: WNIT
Too bad. Not a great look for the conference so far in the postseason. We certainly can't complain about only getting one bid to the NCAA tournament.

Ohio beats Fordham 81-64 in the consolation game. Ohio gets a third game against either UMass or Charlotte on Monday.

RE: WNIT
BG beat Dayton 77-76 to advance and play either Depaul or Drake in the consolation bracket. If Ohio and BG win heir next games, they play each other.

Lexi Fleming did not play for BG. BG fell behind 20-2 but clawed their way back to a 39-39 tie at halftime. After halftime, BG built a good lead but had to hold on to win. Dayton has a 6'5 Fr center but oddly enough BG only played their two 6'2 centers a total of 4 minutes the whole game and that was during the 20-2 initial run by Dayton. The small lineup worked better.
