Honestly, can't say I disagree with any of it. I haven't looked at all the defensive stats for Aimaq to see about defensive player of the year. He was definitely rebounder of the year, but honestly, I don't know who else I would have given it to anyway.

Let's all have some fun in VEGAS!!!!

GO AGGIES!!!!

To Pistol's point yesterday, how is Aimaq (a newcomer to the conference) POY but not Newcomer of the year, too? So strange. I probably also would've given Gak the nod over Ale for 1st team All-WAC, but it probably doesn't really matter in the end. Hill's unanimous selection for WAC Coach of the Year is a nice gesture by the conference coaches to honor a tremendous man and coach. Can't really be mad at that.

RE: Official WAC Postseason Awards - released by the wac office this morning
About what I expected. I knew NMSU was going to get many awards this season. After UVU beat GCU in their first meeting and Aimaq continued to dominate the boards, I suspected Aimaq slide by Midtgaard for WAC POTY. The WAC gave Midtgaard the cancelation prize of Newcomer of the Year, but in reality since both Aimaq and Midtgaard were new to the WAC this season, "if" Aimaq was selected POTY, he should have also been selected Top Newcomer as well. Well, Midtgaard can use his POTY snub as fuel to the fire in the WAC Tournament.

And as previously mentioned, I thought there was a chance Lew Hill would be selected Coach of the Year; as one last gesture to his family and team as to what he meant to the WAC... and all he gave. Also, Although I didn't say it out on this board, I had a feeling because of Aimaq's dominant defensive rebounding, he would get Defensive Player of the Year as well.

In all, I think the award distribution was fair and about what I expected.

I could not love this mindset or respect McCants any more for this take. He's an easy young man to root for, even if he is an Aggie. 02-13-banana02-13-banana02-13-banana

Isn't 2nd team really the same thing as HM? If you aint 1st you're last. Hope McCants back is healthy for Vegas.

The new WAC fans never really saw Johnny McCants at his physical peak. I'm hoping he returns... fully healthy and with a vengeance. We will see.
