How many times have we seen these "anonymous" sources report to the media scathing info about Trump and other Republicans over the last four years? I've lost count. As we've all seen, the VAST MAJORITY of this unsourced reporting has been bogus and typically was a DNC plant.

Could this be true about McConnell? Anything is possible but I'm doubtful.

If you believe any anonymous source from the NYT, you are a complete and total moron or a Democrat. For that matter, I could just say you are a complete and total moron or a complete and total moron.04-cheers

I hope they're wrong as usual, but the fake polls Quinnipiac and NPR/Marxist showing Trump popularity at 33% (terribly wrong I'm sure) might scare RINOS.

Republicans don't like losers so the poll seems accurate.

Rasmussen and Gallup have him at 49 and 48 respectively.

McConnell knows if they really try to impeach it will solidify support behind the Republicans even more. I'm sure he is glad the Democrats are doing it and he will encourage them to do it. Then he will make the verdict fail again.

No, he's preserving it. People are fleeing the party...donations are drying up...if trump is convicted in the senate, he can't run again and he'll have less and less influence in the near future.

If trump hangs around and is viable in 2024, he'll be in his own party and the R's will go the way of the Whigs.

Actually, Mitch may have cost them the Georgia seats by getting outplayed totally on the COVID relief bill. If his handling of that is indicative of his leadership, then republicans and probably we are better off without him as a leader.

Yep. Standing in the way of the $2000 check hurt them in GA. That brought the left and the right together.

Come to think of it, suppose McGrath had beaten Mitch in KY. Would his stupid handling of the $2000 been so easily used against republicans in Georgia?

Who is his base in KY? I can't understand why the Dems can't find a candidate that can get within 10 point of him.

Kentucky is a strange state. Rand's campaign manager once explained it to me.

They tend to vote democrat in local elections, so the county officers tend to be democrat. But in state and national elections they tend to vote republican. Particularly in the eastern part of the state, the coal miners vote democrat in local elections because the union leaders are democrats, but anti-democrat because of anti-coal green energy in state and national elections.

So other than approving some judges, what would be different from his last 15 years?

There is ZERO chance that the Senate will convict him. They won't even have time to get it on the Senate floor. You can not have a Senate impeachment of somebody who is out of office. They can not impeach a private citizen.

The rest of your post is just drivel, as usual. Wishful thinking on your part.

I've got a buddy from deep in the eastern Kentucky mountains that used to be involved in local politics. He pretty much gave me the same explanation.

I think you are wrong about impeaching him after he leaves office. They can do that.
