SBC Women's Soccer Tournament Thread:
There's a lot to go through in this, as its both the first conference tournament to be played during Covid, and also the first tournament played to be played after the conference switched to its Division play only format for this year.
Scheduling format: Each team played a double round robin against teams within their own division, and a few OOC games. In some cases we saw OOC games between East and West teams, and one of South's losses this season was to UL, even though it didn't count as a league game.
Since there were 6 East teams and 5 West teams, Eastern Division opponents played 10 conference games, Western Division teams played 8.
South Alabama as usual won the East going 8-0-2 in conference play losing to Georgia State and Coastal.
Arkansas State went undefeated in the West with only a draw against Little Rock for a 7-1-0 record. Since AState and South did not play this season, there will be no outright conference champion declared. Both teams are divisional champions, and the overall champs will be the tournament champions
Otherwise, Georgia State used a strong run to claim 2nd in the East, With Coastal finishing a close 3rd. Louisiana went 0-2 against Arkansas State but dominated the rest of the West to finish 2nd.

Of Note:
The winner of this tournament will qualify to play in the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament which will not be played until The SPRING. That means whoever wins will likely play a limited OOC only schedule in the Spring to prepare for the NCAA Tournament.
I'll update with results as we go.

RE: SBC Women's Soccer Tournament Thread:
The Jags’ win means two things:
1. We will represent the conference in the NCAA Tournament.
2. Will will face perennial top team Florida State in said tournament.
However, due to coronavirus, the tournament will not take place until April/May of 2021. That means we have 6 months to prepare for the Seminoles. It’ll be interesting to see how we navigate the lay-off.

RE: SBC Women's Soccer Tournament Thread:
So close. We probably win if we're playing with 11, the Red Card was just too much to overcome.
Just not yet to the point that we can beat South consistently. Got to be able to do it to take the next step. But we get closer by the year.

I’m going to say I’m still ticked off about this game. First of all I was there and Astate was the better team till the Center Ref decided to make her mark on the game. The RED CARD was a joke...a very bad call! Astate held for 20+ minutes as USA used their advantage to attack repeatedly (as they should have)...Astate had to lay back and play defense to try and preserve the lead. USA scored their 2 goals with less than 6 minutes to go with a man advantage. Kudos to USA for taking advantage of the situation. Poor decision on the Center Referee changed the outcome of that game. Call me a sore loser if you will, I’ll own it!

That girl had already been given a yellow card for essentially the same issue. Got to be aware of the situation before you decide to roll up another girl while you’re on the ground. Might have been a tough call, but it was also a bad decision by a senior. We also don’t know if something came out of her mouth during the altercation that may have made the yellow a little easier.
Either way, was a great game, you guys had me worried, I believe the red definitely changed the way stAte played that game.

You’re a sore loser but I agree. It was an absolute BS call.
